Six brands account for most electric two-wheelers registered in India in September 2026. TVS Motor was first, followed closely by Bajaj Auto.
The top six
- TVS Motor: 54,090 registrations, 26.1% share
- Bajaj Auto: 48,465, 23.4%
- Ather Energy: 30,565, 14.7%
- Hero MotoCorp: 24,335, 11.7%
- Ola Electric: 13,452, 6.5%
- Greaves Electric: 9,317, 4.5%
The same source also reports company numbers for TVS: wholesale electric two-wheeler sales of 65,799 in September, up 110% from 31,266 a year earlier, and about 1.86 lakh in the July to September quarter, up 133%. It warns that wholesale and Vahan registration numbers should not be compared directly, because they measure different things.
Why technicians should care
When a few brands sell in large numbers, they also need many authorised service centres and trained technicians. If you work on two-wheelers, learning how these brands' electric models are serviced, including battery safety, can open doors at service centres, fleet operators and delivery companies.
- Ask your employer or a training centre about EV service certification.
- Learn basic high-voltage safety before touching any battery pack.
- Keep your resume updated with the brands you have worked on.
