HireHo is a job portal. Job seekers (candidates) create a profile, employers search for people and post jobs, and candidates can refer friends. This page explains what we collect, why, who can see it, and what you can do about it. It follows India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
1. What we collect
Candidates: mobile number (you log in with an OTP, or with Google, LinkedIn or Facebook and then verify your mobile number), name, email (optional), city, state, PIN code, languages, experience, the work you want, answers to role questions, work history, education, and your CV (PDF or Word, optional). We also record when you were last active and when you last updated your profile.
Employers: email, name, company name and city, the jobs you post, the profiles you view and the interview requests you send.
Referrals: if you refer a friend, we keep the number or email you give us, only to show your friend the referral.
Technical: IP address, browser type and error logs, and cookies that keep you logged in and remember your language. We do not use advertising cookies.
2. Profiles that were added by us
Some profiles were created from CVs and contact lists shared with HireHo by recruiters, vendors and the candidates themselves. Such a profile is marked "not verified" inside our system until the person logs in. If you find a profile made from your details and you do not want it, write to connect@hireho.in with your mobile number, and we will correct or delete it within 7 days. We do not send promotional messages to such people unless they have agreed.
3. Why we use your data
- To run your account and log you in.
- To show your profile to employers and match you with jobs.
- To let employers contact you through HireHo.
- To send service messages (OTP, interview requests, application updates) by SMS, email or, if you agreed, WhatsApp.
- To keep the platform safe: stop fake jobs and profiles, spam and misuse.
- To understand how the product is used, using combined numbers wherever possible.
We will ask you again before using your data for a new purpose.
4. Who can see what
Employers who search see only your first name and last initial, city, role, experience, languages, answers, work history without company names, and education. Your phone number, full name, current company and CV become visible to an employer only after you accept their interview request or apply to their job.
Other candidates see nothing about you, except what you choose to share in a referral.
Our team and service providers (hosting, database, SMS and email providers) can access data only as needed to run the service, under our instructions. We do not sell your data. We share it with authorities only when the law requires.
5. Your CV
CVs are stored in a private folder, not on a public link. An employer gets a short-lived link only after you accept their request or apply to their job. You can replace or delete your CV at any time from your profile.
6. Where it is stored and for how long
Our database and files are stored on servers in India. Some service providers may process limited data outside India. We keep your profile while your account is active. If you do not use HireHo for 24 months, we may delete or anonymise your profile after notice. When you ask us to delete your account we remove your profile, CV and referrals within 30 days, except records the law requires us to keep (for example security and OTP logs) and combined statistics that cannot identify you.
7. Your rights
You can ask to see your data, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent, and you can name someone to act for you. Write to connect@hireho.in. We reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
8. Messages
We send OTP and service messages as needed. We send job suggestions or promotions only if you agreed. WhatsApp messages need your separate agreement. You can reply STOP at any time. We do not message anyone between 9 pm and 9 am.
9. Children
HireHo is for people aged 18 and above. If you think a minor has registered, tell us and we will delete the account.
10. Security
We use encrypted connections, database rules so each person can see only what they are allowed to, private file storage, daily limits on how many profiles an employer can view, and logs of views and downloads. No system is perfectly safe. If a breach affects you, we will inform you and the Data Protection Board as the law requires.
11. Employers
Employers may use candidate data only to consider that person for a job. Copying, selling, scraping or contacting people for any other purpose is not allowed and leads to suspension and, where needed, legal action.

13. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
