Based on FADA retail data for September 2026, as reported by Autocar India. Summarised in our own words.
Most reports focus on the top three. FADA's September 2026 data, published by Autocar India, also shows how smaller brands moved. All the brands below grew, but the base of September 2025 was weak for everybody, so look at the units too.
Brand by brand
- Hyundai: 50,201 units, up 31.46%
- Toyota: 28,050 units, up 21.56%
- Kia: 26,663 units, up 45.91%
- Skoda Volkswagen Group: 8,479 units, up 13.51%
- MG: 6,475 units, up 13.74%
- Honda: 5,283 units, up 42.51%
- Renault: 3,410 units, up 33.10%
Reading the table
A brand with small volumes can show a big percentage jump from a few thousand extra cars. Honda's 42.51% growth is about 1,600 more cars. Kia's growth is on a much larger base of 26,663 units, so it is the more notable move.
That Honda calculation is ours, using the 5,283 sold and 42.51% growth in the table. Data excludes Telangana.
These figures come from the source named below and may be revised. They show direction, not an exact count for every job in India.
